Six Weeks after Launching Campaign, Antonio Delgado Reports $1.48  Million Raised for Filing Period

Early Fundraising Success Marks Strong Start for a People-Powered Challenge to the  Establishment, with more than 80% of Donations coming in under $100

New York, NY — Antonio Delgado’s campaign for Governor of New York announced today that it has raised $1.48M after entering the race just six weeks ago — a powerful early showing for a people-powered campaign refusing to play by Albany’s old rules.

While Governor Kathy Hochul continues to rake in checks from corporate PACs, special interests, and entrenched insiders, Delgado’s campaign is being built from the ground up with more than 80% of donations coming in under $100.

“This campaign is being built by people who are fed up with a system that protects the powerful and leaves everyone else scrambling,” said Steven Ileka, Delgado for New York  Press Secretary. “After launching the campaign just six weeks ago, today’s filing shows real momentum and that we have the resources we need to communicate Antonio’s vision for bold, transformational change. We’re not here to maintain the status quo, and more and  more people are getting behind Antonio because he’s not afraid to call out what’s broken – and build something better.”

Delgado’s early fundraising success reflects the momentum behind his bold agenda — tackling  New York’s affordability crisis, making the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share, providing more housing that New Yorkers can afford, delivering universal child care and health care, and standing up to Trump’s federal overreach. Delgado’s campaign has drawn support from across the state – from the Bronx to Buffalo – and will continue expanding its organizing infrastructure ahead of a competitive primary next year.

Path to Victory

New York’s political landscape is shifting — and that shift shows up in moments like Zohran  Mamdani’s decisive win in the NYC Democratic Mayoral Primary.

• NYC Democrats rejected a well-funded establishment candidate with 100% name ID in favor of a forward-thinking, anti-establishment candidate focused on making their everyday life more affordable.

• Last month, Andrew Cuomo outspent Mamdani $30m to $8m and lost decisively. • We’ve seen this with Gov. Hochul before: in the 2018 LG Primary, Gov. Hochul outspent Jumaane Williams 6-1 and almost lost that race.

Antonio Delgado, the Lieutenant Governor and a former congressman who represented a district that included parts of the Hudson Valley, the Capital District, the Mohawk Valley, the Catskills,  and the Southern Tier, begins this race with name recognition and support in upstate New York.  He has the potential to appeal to the same coalition of voters in New York City that propelled

Mamdani to victory, and to the same Black and progressive voters who supported Jumaane  Williams in 2018. Because of this, he has a clear path to winning NYC and outpacing Kathy  Hochul statewide.
